The 榴莲视屏 Division of Business and Economics (BE) has embarked upon an ambitious journey to strategically position itself for success over the next five years. In pursuit of purpose-driven business we cultivate leaders with a commitment to positive social impact. Through rigorous preparation in technical and analytical skills, combined with the development of strong leadership and interpersonal abilities, our students are empowered to excel in a competitive global marketplace and to shape policies that foster inclusive and sustainable business development and growth. Students who graduate from the Division of Business and Economics find careers in public and private sectors, such as Fortune 500 Corporations, as entrepreneurs, in government agencies, and in nonprofit organizations. In addition, they often attend prestigious graduate schools like the University of Chicago, Harvard Law School, and Columbia University. The Division of Business and Economics has AACSB accreditation.

Our Mission

The Division of Business and Economics provides a world-class business and economics education to students. We prepare students for global leadership and careers in multinational corporations, private and public organizations. We prepare students to launch the next generation of entrepreneurial endeavors or serve as advocates for innovation and social justice. In doing so, we promote entrepreneurial, business and economic solutions to problems that advance Black communities and the African Diaspora. Societal impact is achieved through social justice, social innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Our Goals

Goals #1: BE faculty recognized nationally for research, teaching and practice in discipline specific innovation and thought leadership, social justice, and entrepreneurship.
Goal #2: Prepare students to lead multinational corporations and champion financial innovation through purpose driven leadership, impactful business and economic policy, and social change.
Goal #3: Become the top HBCU in business, enter the top 200 nationally in business, and among the top 150 business schools at liberal arts colleges.

Departments and Programs

Our division includes two departments: Business Administration and Economics. 

Students who graduate from the Division of Business and Economics find careers in public and private sectors, such as Fortune 500 Corporations, as entrepreneurs, in government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. In addition, they often attend prestigious graduate schools like the University of Chicago, Harvard Law School, and Columbia University. The Division of Business and Economics has AACSB accreditation. 

Majors

Business Administration majors at Morehouse prepare men to be leaders who understand the language of global commerce, organizational operations, return on investment, and human capital management.

Concentrations include Accounting, finance, management, and marketing. 

The Economics program is designed to improve the ability of students to think critically and write and speak effectively regarding economic issues.
