After being admitted
- Peruse the for a comprehensive overview of the college's academic programs, course offerings, group requirements, and major requirements.
- Review the to see the time and day classes are offered. You can use filters to select courses by subject, to see which courses meet group requirements, and courses with no prerequisites. Courses without prerequisites are available to first-year students.
- If you’ve taken AP or IB classes, you may find the first-year student credit guide helpful in determining how these credits may apply to your degree requirements.
Just before Orientation
- Use the to complete this schedule planner before your advising appointment.
- Review the to explore major and minor as well as the Distribution Requirements.
- Write a list of questions for your adviser about courses, requirements, etc.
- Ask for your SOLAR PIN (you need this to register for classes)
Keep in mind that some majors (such as physics) require you to get started in that department right away in order to graduate on time. It is important to tell your Academic Adviser if you are considering different majors.
As you plan your schedule, be sure to select classes (and labs, conferences, etc.) that don't conflict with each other. During orientation you will have the opportunity to go over your schedule with your Academic Adviser and correct any errors.
